Forbidden Ride

Well sorry this has taken so long, My husband and I had an absolute blast on the very first "Forbidden Ride" it was organized by the Perth County Visitors Association,, they also had help, The Stratford Festival and Huron County Tourism. It was so well organized and even though I have riden motorcycle for 6 years I have never gone on a organized ride!

It started out on Friday evening, we headed into Stratford and met up with alot of other motorcycle riders in the parking lot of the Stratford Festival theater,  we had a police escorted ride thru beautiful downtown Stratford,, Thank-you to the Stratford Police who help with this and made us feel so welcome and made our ride safe and enjoyable,, it was very cool, people where so surprised they stopped and waved to us,, it was a unbelieveable feeling!

Our ride ended at the gardens in the front of the Theater, fantastic for pictures and people where fasinated,, not something you see everyday at the theater, lots of people asked us which gang we where with the Jets or the Sharks,,, yes The WestSide Story was playing that night and most of us had prebought our "special" biker night tickets,, after checking our leathers and helmuts, we headed in to enjoy the show!!! Wow it was FANTASTIC!!! I loved it!!

Forbidden Ride Weekend

Hi All, this is what I was up to on the weekend! More to follow!

By the way this is Dudley and "Rev" the Biker Bear,, made and donated by yours truely!

Happy New Year!!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Ronda and I both had great vacations and spent lots of time with family and friends, ate lots of good food,, tipped a few glasses of wine, and in general are ready to get back to work!! Heh heh holidays are always wonderful but I am usually more than ready to get back to a routine and I alway miss my sewing.

We have our January orders cut and have a few already sewn,, then the finishing begins. The reason that we are staying on top of our orders is because we need to start to work on getting lots of our creations finished for the Welcome Centre. Its fantastic that we have a spot there,, but now the work part we must have enough stock to properly fill our booth and make it look nice! I am really excited about it but I also know that we must keep it stocked and looking great.

Merry Christmas

Hi All,

Wow the weather has been just like the Christmas Carol,,,,, Frightful!!

I am really excited that I am actually blogging,, so excited in fact that I dont even know what to blog about!!

Truthfully Ronda and I are all caught up on our fur coat orders,, heck we even got 3 orders done that werent booked... really!!

So we are kinda wandering aimlessly lost,, we have finished some mohair bears,, very unusual for us and have been working on something totally different,,, a puppy dog!!! Yes! you heard it here first,, I keep teasing Ronda that she will in no time at all have her own bear line,, but with her love of Dogs maybe this will be her artistic calling,, dogs,, cool!

Well gotta run,, its lunch time in the work room,, not that Im working but still dont want to miss out on Lunch!!!

Updates on the dog to follow!!

P.S. I am a horrible speller,, so I will apologize right now and not ever again!!!

Harrison and His Teddy Bear Friends

Here is a wonderful story I'd like to share with you. It was written by Barb Hacking, Avon Public School teacher from Stratford, Ontario. This story was originally published in Our Canada magazine and it's about some of my furry teddy bear friends and their glorious teddy adventures! It all started with Huggable Harrison...

Huggable Harrison travels the world in search of knowledge and adventure to share with his classmates.

by Barb Hacking

On October 3, 2004, I stopped in to see Sue, as I often did on my way to visit my dad, Syl Eccles, in the hospital.  She presented me with a bear named Harrison for my Grade 2 and 3 class at the Avon Public School.  He had been made by the Russ company to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the teddy bear in 2002.  Harrison had sat in her store for two years, and although many people had given him hugs and rather liked him, no one had taken him home.  Sue was feeling rather sorry for him.
